Just across the road from the beautiful main beach in Tathra, you’ll find Wild Orchid Café. It’s a stylish corner place with heaps of outdoor seating and some space inside near the action.
I enjoyed a few takeaway oat lattes from Wild Orchid. The beans are from Wild Rye’s Roasting Co, a roastery just down the road in Pambula, and they were paired with The Alternative Dairy Co’s excellent oat milk. The results were great – chocolately, mellow and balanced with a lingering finish.
The café is very well styled and wouldn’t look out of place in Melbourne or Sydney. It has that relaxed beachy feel while retaining a lot of class. The effort that’s gone into the look and feel of this place is obvious. It was good to see a smattering of vegan options on their menu too.
Wild Orchid was a great spot for a coffee after a beach walk and is very convenient for the caravan parks. The coffee was a really good standard and I love seeing cafés supporting their local coffee roasters!
